Who are we?
ChildCarers is made up of a passionate and dedicated team of child care professionals. Every one of us has some form of experience in the industry which we leverage to improve our products and the support. Many of us are also parents with young families, which gives us valuable insight into what families need, want and expect from their service in regards to their child's development.
It all began in 2003 when Neal and Michelle Meharg built their first child care centre in Sydney, NSW. This step was taken out of a genuine interest to make a difference in children's lives through their love of children. Another centre was soon to follow and they branched out to provide consulting services to others either wanting to start up in the industry or expand.
In 2010 it became apparent that the increasing administrative burdens were taking them and their educators away from their core passions; teaching children. So Neal, with a background in business and technology, set about building an online solution to make the documentation easier and to enhance communication with parents.
Online Portfolios was launched in 2011 and word quickly spread that educators could now write observations online and email daily updates to parents, and so ChildCarers grew. Realising the demand for other digital solutions, we aligned with industry specialists in the realms of Time & Attendance and HR to provide better systems for managing different areas of a child care centre.
