About Us

The Beginning

I n May 2003 Neal and Michelle Meharg decided to build their first child care centre in Sydney, NSW. This step was taken out of a genuine interest to make a difference in children's lives through their love of children. Another centre was soon to follow and they branched out to provide consulting services to others either wanting to start up in the industry or expand.

We soon realised that the administrative burden was ever increasing and we were being taken away from our core passion of educating children. We also found that parents wanted more information about how their child's day was progressing. Too often busy parents had too little time to chat about how their child's learning and day had progressed. We created a day book for each child that soon turned into a daily email, with a printout for those that don't have email. In itself that worked extremely well but emails often didn't get there due to issues like spam filters (software that blocks emails), changed email addresses, etc.

That lead to building a complete online solution dedicated to the early years of children's lives. We believe this is the first such system dedicated to providing these services in Australia.

We now dedicate our energies into helping others reduce their administration burden, simplify their parent communications and thus leave more time to raise the quality of their care.

Our Team

Neal Meharg Managing Director

Neal has held the role of Managing Director of technology companies for the 12 years. He has built organisations in Australia and Asia and has now blended his child care knowledge as a licensee and a consultant over the last 10 years to bring ChildCarers to the industry.

Guy Leeder Chief Technology Officer

Guy has led online development projects for the last 10 years. He has managed large development teams delivering solutions to companies such as Intel, Microsoft and Dell as well as smaller Australian companies. Guy also manages the development team.

James Meharg Chief Financial Officer

James in his time at Deloitte has gained a wealth of information about systems and processes.

Chris Masterton General Manager

Chris has brings a wealth of technical knowledge to the team as well as his skills as a graphic designer. He also has over 8 years experience working in the child care industry.

Andrew Yanz Product Manager

Andrew has worked with Neal for many years and has experience as a licensee of a long day care center and also a background in IT and product development.

Michelle Meharg Accounts Manager

Michelle assists in ensuring all of our administration functions and processes are ticking along.

Paulette Aquino Director of Pedagogy

Apart from being an author of children's books Paulette brings a wealth of experience through her international teaching experience. In recent years Paulette has undertaken her Masters Degree in Early Learning to ensure we stay abreast of compliance issues.

Sarah Billinge Support Manager

Through her years of providing support from working in call centres Sarah finally realised her calling and completed studies in Childrens Services. Sarah now brings both those areas together to head up our support team.
